We enhanced network resilience by delivering mechanical, electrical, control, automation, and civil engineering works across two critical pumping stations, applying innovative engineering solutions to improve reliability and performance.
Enisca Browne delivered two complex infrastructure projects: the Runleywood Borehole for Affinity Water and a pumping station at Walthamstow Wetlands for Thames Water. Both required careful planning in sensitive environments to minimise disruption and meet strict standards.
At Runleywood, a 320m borehole was drilled on a constrained residential site. At Walthamstow, the team built a new pumping station with a rising main, two pipe bridges, and a 100m under-river directional drill to support long-term operations.
Programme reduction through innovative delivery methods
Cost savings against initial project estimates
Increased pumping efficiency and reduced consumption
Supply disruption during complex upgrade works
Supply Continuity
To keep water flowing during works, Enisca Browne used off-site modular builds, reducing disruption, speeding up installation, and cutting costs.
Faster Delivery
Early contractor involvement and innovative methods shortened the programme by 10 weeks, minimising operational impact.
Cost Savings
Efficient delivery and smart engineering achieved over 10% savings, offering strong value to the client.
Through innovative engineering, off-site fabrication, and efficient management, Enisca Browne delivered upgraded pumping stations that boost Affinity Water’s resilience. The improvements reduce energy use and enhance control system performance.
This project showcases Enisca Browne’s ability to deliver complex upgrades while maintaining services and achieving significant cost and time savings.
